100% Non-profit
Annapolis County Ground Search and Rescue (ACGSAR)
is a 100% non-profit, volunteer search and rescue organization and
registered charity with in Nova Scotia.
Our volunteers are on call 24/7, 365 days a year to respond to lost-person
incidents and civil emergencies when needed. Most of our searches take
place at night and in inclement weather. A search can mean looking for
anyone from lost hikers, campers, and skiers to children and Alzheimer’s
patients. All volunteers of ACGSAR are volunteers. They provide their own
food, gasoline, time, and a wide variety of specialized equipment
necessary for braving sometimes severe outdoor conditions.
Our members are dedicated and skilled, but we need your help! Please
support our search and rescue efforts. Making a gift to Annapolis County
Ground Search and Rescue is a direct and meaningful way to help
someone who may be lost or injured. A financial gift will allow us to
continue to provide these critical services to the people in the Annapolis
Valley.
Welcome
Annapolis County Ground Search and Rescue
Since 1976, our mandate is to locate and rescue lost
persons within the County of Annapolis and all towns and
villages in Annapolis Co., and we also assist our
neighbouring teams throughout Nova Scotia.
Are you looking for information on how to notify ACGSAR in the event of
a lost person?
Any missing/lost person is and starts as a criminal investigation and can only be
investigated by an AOJ (Agency of Jurisdiction) aka police. ACGSAR has to be activated
by an AOJ - we cannot self deploy.
If you have an emergency, contact 911.
